The name Manyara comes from the Maasai word emanyara, which is a euphorbia species of plant. The name “is a Masai description for a lake shore region.”
Lake Manyara National park was established in 1981 by UNESCO as part of its Man and the Biosphere programme. Lake Manyara National Park is a Tanzanian national park located both in Arusha Region and Manyara Region, Tanzania.
Covered by the Acacia woodlands, Giant Fig trees and Mahogany varieties, Lake Manyara National park definitely makes a great landscape and a soothing treat to the eyes.
Lake Manyara National park boasts of a huge number of elephants. While on a safari in the park you will easily spot them around. Baboons are another hugely found animal.
