Located in Northeren Tanzania this 552Km square Arusha National Park is known for the Ngurdoto Crater, which is 2.4 kms in area  and is placed  in the midst of the montane forest.

The best part about Arusha National park is its proximity to Arusha town,  a 40-minute drive from Arusha town , and you will be at the park. Arusha national park is a perfect starting point for a north Tanzania safari as it lies at a distance of approximately 60km from Kilimanjaro International Airport.

The  rocky cliffs of the Ngurdoto Crater enclose a wide wet lands, are a regular visit for  buffalos and warthogs. With a pair of binoculars, you could  spot marsh birds and various herbivores animals grazing around  on the crater floor.

if you get lucky, you  spot the blue monkeys that live in the thick montane forest. Due to its vegetation, Arusha National park is the only place in Tanzania’s northern safari circuit where the black and white colobus monkey can be seen!

Big Momela, small Momela, El Kekhotoito, Kusare, Rishateni, Lekandiro and Tulusia are the seven lakes inside Arusha National park.

All these lakes have a unique colour which is due to different kids of algae growth in each of them. These lakes attract a number of bird species and beautiful flamingos around them.
